GETTING INVOLVED

It’s important in the life of every Christian to get involved in a local church. There are several signs that are proof that people are becoming involved with a local church.

Five signs of assimilation:

Regular church attendance

  • Weekly participation in Sunday services is a sign of assimilation

  • Hebrews 10:25 speaks of the need to congregate with one another

 Regular patterns of giving

  • Jesus said, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21)

  • Returning the tithe to God and sowing offerings is a healthy part of a committed life and a true sign of assimilation

Relational development

  • It is said that if a person will develop seven relationships, they will stay in a church

  • This means that if you don’t develop relationships you are not likely to stay in a church

Helping out

  • We all have something to offer the local body and to withhold it is not right

  • Every church, everywhere needs people to help it develop

  • Every person, everywhere needs to be needed

Becoming part of a small group

  • In many ways the church can only become bigger by getting smaller

  • The size of a church can be intimidating in many ways; a small group can help the intimidation be minimised

  • A small group is a great place to meet people, develop relationships and find your destiny
